BRITISH HISTORIC
KART CLUB
Preserving our Karting
Heritage

2009 was the 50th anniversary of the first official race in the UK, and to mark the occasion the BHKC held a commemorative meeting at Whilton Mill Kart Circuit, attracting around 200 karts from Europe and the UK. In 2010 they co-organised the first Euro retro racer championship on mainland Europe at Belgium's famous Spa F1 motor racing circuit together with the Dutch historic kart club with other competitors from the German and French historic kart club also competing. The Euro Retro Racer championship in 2011 was organised at the Whilton Mill circuit.

Events

The BHKC holds static displays, demonstration events and track days.  Many of our members take part in a six-round short-circuit race series organised by RetroRacer. The variety and number of events in the UK will keep any historic kart owner happy and the 2013 program starts with the Autosport at the NEC in January and Race Retro at Stoneleigh in February.

Among the BHKC program of demonstration events at kart clubs around the country, favourites have been the SuperKart GP at Cadwell Park, and the annual Revival Meeting at Shennington where we have well over 100 historic karts participating. We also take part in events outside the world of karting where the club members have the chance to attend other prestigious events such as live action and display at the Race Retro Show, the huge Silverstone Classic meeting and the Donington Festival. Previous years have seen participation at the Jaguar Revival meeting at Goodwood, the Bristol MC anniversary event at Castle Combe, air shows and burning rubber down the strip at the Santa Pod drag strip.
